Put DVD movie in your iPod touch/phone (or any device)

Aqua Teen Hunger Force
This instruction is for Vista (32 bit), Windows XP, and Windows 2000.
Recently, I’ve bought an Ipod Touch (8gb), and it was pretty great. I like it. So, I’ve searched for what the Ipod touch could do(Like how the ds(not dsi) with R4 can do: play music, run homebrew, play nes….). Well, I haven’t go that far yet, and I’ll get to the point now. How to put DVD movies in your iPod touch/phone (or any video playing device, like PSP, ps3, and xbox(according to Handbrakes preset as of this date)), and it’s quite easy.
You’ll need to download 2 things as said in the video. Downloaded DVD43, and so far, no malware activity is detected, but I don’t think this is a malware. Handybreak is safe to download, I humbly thank this tip from someone in the college I go to. Install DVD43 before you run Handybreak(you’ll have to restart your computer after the installation, so do that). Put in your DVD in your DVD drive, And make sure you follow his steps in the video.
Format: MP4
For Ipod touch(and assuming for Ipod Phone)… Width: 480, Height: 320
Video codec: MPEG4(ffmpeg)
Avg bitrate: 600
The Output settings format have/has(oh, grammer) 5 options in which you can save your dvd as: .Mp4, .m4v, .mkv, .avi, and .ogm. Mp4 format, from what I’ve heard, can compress alot of memory which means you can fit more movies in your device. I converted an episode of ATHF from DVD, and it weighed 60.7 MB, which is great(probably because the size it fits on the ipodtouch is small). I also watched an Azumanga episode, and it had 126MB. So, if you want to watch alot of DVDs on your Ipod touch/phone, then an 8gb won’t do, but that’s just me.
You can watch .mp4 on your computer with quicktime. But if quicktime, watching movies throught iTunes becomes an hassle; if you want to watch with less RAM consumption; or you want to watch .avi video, you can download VLC Media Player. Here, I discuss about it, but not much.
If you want to put episode from DVD(ex: azumanga), you’ll have to use judgement for this part:
![]()
And after that, go to the Audio & Subtitle tab and make some changes whether you want subtitles, Japanese Audio, English Audio, language audio and such.
Well, I hope this worked for you. Enjoy watching Movies on your device.
I’m not going to have time to make more post as of now, either I ran out of materials, but mostly I’m in college. My computer could distract me and affect my grade, so I’m avoiding that except homework. I’m saying this that if you come here and check my blog often, then don’t expect post being made once in a while. You could suscribe this blog with a FeedReader(Google Reader) so that you can read new post automatically, w/o going to this site. Well, See ya.
VLC player – Moved from XP to Vista?
Did you had an XP before, and you moved on to Vista? If you so happen to moved to Vista OS, some of the video files from your XP won’t play, like .avi and some .mpg. Well don’t worry, there is a way you can still watch them all on Vista. Go to http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and download their VLC LAN player, it’s free, quite powerful and it’s clean! It may be better than windows media player(I use it because my laptop has a quick touch).
Although I don’t why the maker use a cone as their icon, but here’s an article from Wikipedia to make it less ambiguous.
The cone icon used in VLC is a reference to the traffic cones collected by Ecole Centrale’s Networking Students’ Association.[5] The cone icon design was changed from a hand drawn low resolution icon[6] to a higher resolution CGI rendered version in 2006.[7]

How to set up a fighting stick to your Snes9X
If you try to set up a fighting stick for the Snes9X, it can be maddening. So I provided instructions on how to set it up.

- Click on the box next to Up Left, move your fighting stick up and hold it, then move it right from that position. You’ve set up the input for Up Right
- Click on the box next to R, move your fighting stick up and hold it, then move it left from that position. You’ve set up the input for Up Left.
I had trouble setting up my stick for the snes emulator, so I thought maybe is going through the same act I’ve gone through.
How to install your Hori Xbox 360 Fighting Stick EX2 control to your PC
In this post, I will give you instructions on how to install a Hori Xbox 360 Fighting Stick EX2 to your PC. Follow the instructions and you’ll do fine.
If you use XP, click here http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=141775, and follow the instructions. I had an XP operating system, and that’s how I installed my fighting/arcade stick on it.
This steps are for Vista users. Starting from R-Jive post, we’ll work our way through, don’t intimidated, they are all short steps
- Plug in the Hori Fighting Stick USB into your computer.
- Let the computer install the new device it detects. After that it should say “You’re device is ready.”
- Click here, and download Windows XP Xbox 360 Driver(latest). (Yep, download the XP kind)
- After you downloaded the driver, install it.
- Go to Computer, from the start menu.
- Go to OS (C:), Windows, and inf
- Copy all of Step 8.
- %XBCD_360.DeviceDesc% =Install, USB\VID_0F0D&PID_000D ; HORI FighterStickEX2
- Scroll all the way down the /inf folder(you can do this easily by pressing the END key), find the file called “XBCD” and open it.
- You’ll be given a Notepad, with all a bunch of stuff on it. Find Driver Information, then find [DeviceList]. Now at the end of the [DeviceList] add Step 8. on the list. Should look like this.
- Now save it, and in response, it will only allow you to Save as…
- For the File Name, call it “XBCD.inf”, and save it anywhere you can fetch it; like your desktop.
- Close the notepad, drag the XBCD.inf you just created, and drag it into the /inf folder. Select move and replace, keep pressing continue if prompted. After that, you can close all window that could get in your way. As R-Jive would say, you’ve have just made Window chose a different driver than what is was using before. At this point, I didn’t know what to do, but after playing around with the device manager, I was able to make the Hori Fighting Stick work(Luckily). Okay, let’s resume.
- Go to Start, and open the Control Panel
- On the top right search bar, type in “Device Manager”, and wait for it to find it.
- Make sure You re-plugged in your Hori USB. Click on Device Manager, continue if prompted.
- Find an icon of a small computer monitor/screen with a magnifier, it will scan for hardware changes; click on it.
- After it scans, find a path called Microsoft Common Controller(Or Human Interface Devices), and open it.
- You’ll find a path called “Xbox 360 controller for Windows”, right click it, and update driver software.
- Choose “Browse my computer for driver software”
- Choose “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”
- Choose “XBCD Xbox 360 Gamepad”(it’s not signed, but that’s ok),and press Next
- A Windows security pops up; Install this driver software anyway
- Wait for it to install, it may take a minute or less
- And there you go, Windows has successfully updated your software; XBCD XBox 360 Gamepad. Press close.
- Go to start, All programs, XBCD, and Setup Utility. There you can test your fighting stick, and know which button to press.
And, you’re finished making the Hori stick to work on your computer. However, the Xbox button doesn’t work, but that’s alright; you might not need it. I’m not sure if it can work.
Now you can use the arcade/fighting stick to play MAME, games, and emulators. You can also play games that doesn’t support game controls inputs(such as, .swf, flash games; and mugen) by reading on my Joy2Key post.
Let’s talk about how to setup your fighting stick on MAME.
Open Mame, choose any game you want to setup, right click on it, click on properties, click on the controllers tab, click Enable joystick input(if you chose a game that uses a gun, check on Enable mouse input), and click ok. That game is now set up to play with the controller. (I played The King of fighter 2002, and to my surprise, it was already Enabled for the joystick). Next, load up the ROM, and one it’s done loading, press the TAB button on your keyboard, go to Input(this game). There you can configure with your fighting stick. From P1 Button 1-6(or any) start from top to left and bottom to left(I think it’s the default setting) For more info on MAME, check out my post about it.

Free Photoshop for PC! Abandon MSPaint
Well, you can still use Paint if you want to make funny and crappy editing. But do you wish that you can make good artwork, and more editing tools than MSPaint for free(If it’s free, then I’m sure Photoshop is still the best.)? You deserve a better paint program than the frustrating, hard-lassoing, no magic touch MSPaint right? Well there is, and I’ll show you how to get Paint.NET.
Click here to go to the Paint.NET site, download Paint.Net, unzip it, you know the drill.
I’ve used Photoshop before, and this program resembles like it. You want to draw a background? Then start drawing one. You want to draw people? Well before you do that, create a new layer, or press CTRL, SHIFT and N. You’re finished with your drawing? Go to File, Save as, and on the drop down menu; select .jpg/.jpeg or other format(There is a difference in .jpg and .gif).
Found it on a Newgrounds post, but this post* encourages me to download the paint program, since it mentions Paint.NET to me twice.
*Heliumboy – Try Paint.NET. Its free and similar to photoshop.
Enjoy!
Hjsplit – Split your file’s size, and join them together.
Let’s say that you want to transfer a file through rapidshare or FTP. But your file is too big, or you don’t want the recipient to download the file for a whole day. How do you solve this? With Hjsplit! This tool is useful for QUICK splitting and joning .001 file! Click here to download it.
LimeWire – Download free mp3
You want to download a song you like? Then go to http://www.limewire.com/ and click on other version! Install it, and search for your song to download. My suggestion, do not download .mid file and ONLY download .mp3 files. You know what, now that I’m editting this post right now, I’ll make a list of the things you should know while using LimeWire.
- Do not download .mid files of the song you want. Check the tabs on your search results.
- Do not download .zip, .rar or any files that are compressed, because they may have virus.
- Do not download .htm, it could lead you to a website where they’ll give you spyware or malware.
- Do not download if it says “Ipod”(thanks to you for making Ipod a big hit, no offense though ;p), “funny”(ugh), ringtones, a movie title(except soundtrack, but if it’s .zip/compressed then don’t)or sex words.
- Do not download a movie, tv show, or tv clip.
- Only download .mp3 files.
- When downloading a song, check the Bitrate tab. If it has no Bitratebit, then the song won’t work.
- Check the speed. If it says, T3 or higher, T1 or Cable/DSL, the download speed will be good(only if you have cable/dsl or higher for your internet connection). If it says dial-up, broadband, 56k, or modem the download will be slow and may not be worth downloading. Downloading Lord of the rings with a modem is DEFINATLY not worth it)
- There is alot of spammers. Look out for their tricks, like free stuff or “funny family guy/southpark(I don’t know how it started but the fans who those show really liked tooo much)”
- Check your song’s size. Most mp3 are over 1000-2000 kb. One time I downloaded a mp3 that was 300kb and all it plays is some losers voice saying to visit a site he is spamming, obviosly to get paid because he is a money whore who can’t get a good job.
- Check the “#” and star tab. If there is a lot of people downloading or if the quality is good, download it.
- Do not try to complete half of all the songs you wanted to download in a day, you could get caught for stealing. Try to aim for a minimal amount, Like 5-7 per day. Downloading over 10 could be risky. But that’s just to stay on the safe side.
- I think that’s all, if I ever think of something, I’ll make a sticky post on this site.
You can download this software to replace LimeWire. I’ve heard people say it’s better, but I havn’t tried it and I may not use it. But the list would still apply, that I’m defiantly sure of. http://www.download.com/FrostWire/3000-2166_4-10627624.html
Fire Fox add-ons Bundle post #1
I will talk about the add-ons I’m using.
Extensions
Flash Block – Blocks .swf file, great if visting a site that is bombarded with flash ads. I recommend it.
Download Statusbar – View and manage downloads from a tidy status bar – without the download window getting in the way of your web browsing.
Flagfox – Displays a country flag in the status bar depicting the location of the current website’s server, and provides quick access to detailed geographical location and web server information(shows the IP Address).
Adblock plus: Element hiding helper – Block text ads.
Adblock plus – Block picture advertisement, subscribe to the ez-list.I recommend it.
McAfee SiteAdvisor – Useful ao. It looks in its database and tells you whether the site is safe or not in color, and a report. You can also read comments of the sites safety-ness by users
TimeTracker – Records your time on firefox, and it’s reset-able. You’ll know how long you spent on the internet. This could slightly help you limit your internet usage, I guess.
DownloadHelper – Downloads .flv video files in a site, if they are showing. Once dowloaded you can convert it, or play it with FLV Player(VLC player is better). I recommend getting this if you like youtube, or want to back up a youtube video from some one else(some user deletes their video that you happened to like). It also comes with a flv converter, so you can convert it to different video format.
Shareaholic – A great social based add on. It works with most social website. Replace it with Delicious add on. I recommend it if you use a social website, such as, digg, delicious, facebook, stumbleupon, and more.
Read it Later – If you bookmark too much on articles that you just want to take a look and delete, this extention could be for you. Press ALT and M to add a webpage to read it later. This is great if you bookmark small things.
FireGesture – Hold right-click and move it around to give certain commands.
NoScript – Maximize Security.
Themes:
Abstract Classic – Makes it look sleeker.
Nasa Night Launch – A dark theme, looks cool. Good if you want your browser to be dark.
I’ll find more add on next time!
"I" and "l", are you fooled?
Well right now, you can see the difference. The left is a capital “i”, while the right is a lower-case “L”. On YouTube or most sites, you can’t tell the difference. So, because of that, people use this to their advantage of creating usernames. Like CIoud, Iink, JiIl, or JiII. Well, now you know this stuff. Sometimes in site or games, you can add friends by name, so just let the adder know that your character/internet name is spelled differently. Well, have fun.
Take these profile as an example, they are different from each other:
http://www.youtube.com/user/cloud
http://www.youtube.com/user/cioud
